Seeing Double? Niles West Twins Attempt to Set Guinness World Record

 

Visitors to Niles West High School might do a double-take because they think they’re seeing double. That’s because there are an unusual amount of twins in the sophomore class. This anomaly was pointed out to Director of Student Activities Jessica Ogulnik, and the school decided to try to document this fact, in order to set a Guinness World Record. There actually is a record held by Pomperaug High School in the U.S. for Most Twins in the Same Academic Year at One School.

Action Awareness-Achievement Skokie D.A.Y. (Diversity Action by Youth) Program Deadline

Through the Skokie D.A.Y. (Diversity Action by Youth) Program, the Education Committee of the Village of Skokie Human Relations Commission wishes to recognize young people for their activities to foster better understanding and mutual respect among all peoples of Skokie.

High school students perform a minimum of 24 hours of volunteer work in addressing unmet community needs and helping a person or a group different from the participant—different in terms of cultural heritage, religion, age, gender, socio-economic level, family structure, abilities, or educational background.

Niles North's International Night Brings Together People of All Cultures

Skokie’s McCracken School to Showcase Technology Downstate

 

It wouldn’t be complete to say that McCracken Middle School students in early May will be attending a statewide event on school technology in Springfield.

 

More accurate is to say that these middle school students — and student filmmakers— will be participating in the event since they will be bringing short documentaries they have created on subjects of their choice.

 

McCracken is one of 70 Illinois schools participating in the annual TECH 2012 Students for the Information Age event May 2 in the State Capitol in Springfield.
