Founded in 1984, CFAS is dedicated to the education and promotion of the Chinese arts.  In a culturally diverse society such as Chicago, CFAS provides programs and activities that promote the understanding of Chinese culture through music and other fine arts.

The Art Institute of Chicago is getting rid of its free Thursday evenings program in favor of a new Wednesday schedule to attract more local residents, according to a museum spokeswoman.

Katherine Elizabeth Designs will present a private portfolio showing of original oil paintings and works of art on paper that will help you create beautiful space. Hundreds of items will be available for purchase at dealer pricing. Proceeds will benefit Midwest CareCenter services that are provided at no cost to our community—e.g., grief support for adults and youth, music services, community education and Jewish Care Services.

Cinco Escuelas on Cinco de Mayo

The opening reception for the art show “Cinco Escuelas, Cinco de Mayo” will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo in Spanish) in the lobby at Niles North High School, 9800 Lawler, Skokie. Artwork from five schools (Cinco escuelas in Spanish) will be on display. Exhibiting schools include: East Prairie Elementary School, Golf Junior High, McCracken Middle School, Old Orchard Junior High and Niles North High School.
