Early Head Start is a federal program for low income families with infants and toddlers and pregnant women.  Offering full day child care with healthy meals and snacks.  For information and to apply: You will need proof that you live in Evanston/District 65, Skokie, Morton Grove, Lincolnwood, Northfield, Winnetka, Northbrook or Wilmette.  Proof of your income and verification of your child's age.

Mary Lou's Place (formerly the Evanston Shelter for Battered Women and Their Children), a domestic violence shelter for women and their children, was created in 1980 as a five-bed, volunteer-run shelter and has since grown into a 32-bed residential facility.
