RESOLVE, The National Infertility Association, is dedicated to providing education, advocacy and support for men and women struggling with infertility. Established in 1974, it is a non-profit organization with the only established, nationwide network mandated to promote reproductive health and to ensure equal access to all family building options for men and women experiencing infertility or other reproductive disorders.

Food Pantry Seeks Donations for Difficult Time

Niles Township Food Pantry Director Cynthia Carranza meets at least one person in need almost every day she's on the job.

"There are so many people hurting right now because of the recession," she said. "People are struggling like never before. I see people who come here who have lost their jobs. It's practically a daily occurrence."

C.A.R.E. for the Evanston Animal Shelter presents a Dog Wash on Saturday, June 12th from 9am to 2pm.  $10.00 for a dog wash and $10.00 for nail trimming.  Please come and bring your dog and if you do not have a dog, how about coming out and helping?  

At the Evanston Animal Shelter at 2310 Oakton Street.

Chicago Housing Authority Opens Waitlist For First Time In Decade

The Chicago Housing Authority will reopen its wait list in June for the first time in more than a decade.

Applicants can add their name to the waitlist exclusively through the internet. Officals expect to draw from the list for the next five years, according to a spokeswoman.

Spirits Not Dampened on Rainy 'Mitzvah Day'

Rain could not spoil a hundred good deeds. 

 

Temple Judea Mizpah held its annual Mitzvah Day, and an estimated 100 volunteers -- ranging in age from young children to seniors -- were able to:

  • Box everyday items for donating;
  • Decorate canvas grocery bags for the Niles Township Food Pantry;
  • Prepare greeting cards to servicemen and women at the Great Lakes Naval Base.
