Christian Woman’s Faith Attacked in Istanbul Airport

May 12, 2010 ~ Returning from a recent trip to Lebanon, Helen Talia, traveling with her friend Laurice Somo, both from Chicago, approached the security gates at Istanbul Atatürk International Airport, carrying a host of religious (Christian) gifts ~ crosses, rosaries in her carry-on handbag.

Monday, May 17th at 11:30am at the Daley Center Plaza in Chicago, will be the start of the 12th Asian American Festival to celebrate the AsianPacific American Heritage Month. 

 

The festival is a week long from May 17 through the 21.  It will be hosted by the Indian American community whose event theme will be

"One Vision - Many Voices".

The Chicago Assyrian community is celebrating another birth year of its ancient civilization.

 

This year marks the 6760th Assyrian year and the "Akitu" festivities will be held this Thursday, April 1st, 2010 at the Chaldo-Assyrian Center, located at 9131 Niles Center Road, Skokie, Illinois.

 

Entertainment to include various Assyrian singers and the doors will open at 7pm.
