JUF believes that Jewish early childhood education is so important that they created JUF Right Start to make Jewish preschool and daycare more accessible and affordable for Jewish parents.

The program’s centerpiece is a gift voucher—the first of its kind nationally--that will substantially offset the cost of Jewish early childhood education. The voucher can be applied to the tuition of the first child in your immediate family to attend a participating Jewish preschool or day care.

Illinois Child Care Certificates can be used to pay any legal care provider: a child care center, a licensed family child care home, or a license-exempt provider (which may be relatives, neighbors, or any person caring for three or fewer children at one time including their own). Once a month, the provider will submit a billing certificate to Action for Children. If the certificate is completed correctly, it will be entered and approved for payment. Providers typically receive a check three weeks after it is entered by Action for Children. There is no waiting list for certificates.
