Suresh Bodiwala captured the moment during the village's popular 4th of July parade. The Mayor and First Lady reviewed the procession from their platform located near Oakton Park. Despite the economy, the Skokie parade had as many participants and was as exciting as ever.

Each year, Senator Silverstein holds 3 or 4 town halls at different locations within his district to update his constituents on actions taken during the legislative session and to hear their concerns. SkokieNet staff attended the meeting held at the Devon Bank in Chicago.

 

Silverstein started by describing the bills he had sponsored or co-sponsored during the legislative session. Some were passed, others are still in negotiation.

Mosquito Spraying Date Re-Scheduled

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (NSMAD) postponed the scheduled adult mosquito control operations on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 due to inclement weather.

 

The rescheduled date for adult mosquito control operations takes place in Skokie on Thursday, August 5, 2010, between the hours of 8 p.m.

Teens Art Contest Theme: Reading is So Delicious!

Illinois Library Association's iRead program is sponsoring a drawing contest for middle and high school artists. The winning artwork will be used in libraries across the state of Illinois as part of the 2012 Summer Reading Program.  Artwork will also be published online and in the iREAD Resource Guide.
