North Shore Mosquito Abatement District to Spray

 

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (NSMAD) will conduct targeted adult mosquito control operations on Thursday, August 12, 2010 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., weather permitting.

 

The specific NSMAD map numbers that encompass the areas of 04-14, 04-23,04-26, 05-15, 05-22 and 05-27.

Devonshire Preschool Open House

The 2010-11 school year begins on September 7, 2010. Bring the whole family to meet Devonshire Preschool instructors and tour the facility on Thursday, September 2 and Friday, September 3 from 10:00am to noon. Devonshire Preschool is located in the Devonshire Cultural Center at 4400 Greenwood Avenue, Skokie, IL 60076.

County Offers Mortgage Foreclosure Assistance

Homeowners facing foreclosure can get free assistance from the Circuit Court of Cook County's Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Program.  To be eligible for assistance, homeowners must be residents of Cook County, have received a foreclosure summons from the Cook County Clerk, and live in the building in foreclosure.  Eligible buildings can include single-family homes, condominiums, and apartment buildings with four or fewer units.

India's Independence Day Celebrated at Skokie Library

The Indian Association of Skokie hosted an exciting celebration of Indian culture and the 63rd anniversary of Indian Independence today. Acts ranged from Bollywood to classical dancing to crowd pleasing songs, all a hit with attendees.
