Skatium Grand Re-Opening in Skokie

The brand new re-designed Skatium Ice Arena opened its doors to the public on Sunday with an open house that included live music, free admission and appearances from championship figure skaters.

The Niles North High School Drumline Band provided the musical accompaniment to opening remarks made by Skokie Park District President Mike Reid and Skatium Executive Director Mark Schneiderman praising the new state-of-the-art facility.

Following the dedication ceromy, world class skaters including Olympian Susie Wynne, World Champion Kimmie Meissner and National Champion Ryan Bradley took to the ice for a skating exhibition.

Afterwards the public was invited to share the ice with these world-class skaters.
