Small fire in Skokie near Laramie Avenue and Crain Street

4:15 p.m. CDT, August 20, 2011

A small fire in Skokie near Laramie Avenue and Crain Street this afternoon brought gas and power workers, and authorities are advising people to avoid the area.

Workers from Nicor Gas and ComEd were on the scene and local residents were told to leave the area. A police dispatcher could not provide additional details on the situation.
