Village of Skokie Holding Tests for Police Officer Candidates
The Village of Skokie will be conducting an open and competitive examination for the position of police officer.
The duties of an officer include but are not limited to the enforcement of laws, the maintenance of order, the protection of life and property, and the prevention of crime.
To apply you must meet the following requirements:
* Be a minimum 21 years of age and under 35 years of age by the date of the written examination, in this instance February 21, 2009.
* Have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit by the date of the written examination. You will be required to bring a certified copy of your college transcript to the written examination.
* Be a U. S. Citizen or an alien authorized to work in the United States.
* Have a valid driver’s license.
* Have vision correctable to 20/20 and be free from color blindness.
ATTENDANCE AT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TWO ORIENTATION SESSIONS IS MANDATORY. Those will be held Thursday, January 29, 2009 OR Saturday, January 31, 2009 from 7 to 9pm at Niles West High School Auditorium, 5701 OAKTON, SKOKIE.
Applications will be distributed at the orientation session. You will be required to return the completed application on the day of the written examination, scheduled for Saturday, FEBRUARY 21, 2009, followed by the physical ability test in the afternoon.
