Good Times At The Backlot Bash

Charlie Chaplin Visits the Skokie Village HallThe Backlot Bash returned to downtown Skokie in August. Last year the Skokie Park District, the Independent Merchants of Downtown Skokie, the Village, and Skokie Chamber of Commerce all joined together to launch the first of a very successful fun-filled event. This year's Bash included many of last year's popular features, including an art show, live bands, beer, business expo, carnival, car show, farmer's market and silent movies at the Skokie Theatre. New additions this year included a 5K run and children's walk, a motorcycle show, a bingo tent, and Baggo tournament. Storytelling, music and games were also offered for kids, tweens and teens inside the Skokie Public Library. Attendees swayed to the rhythms of a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute band, and blues music by Lonnie Brooks and Skokie resident Eddy Clearwater.
