Caucus Party Promotes Diversity in Skokie

The Skokie Caucus Party has elected Pramod Shah as vice chairman and Angeles "Jelly" Carandang as treasurer reflecting the more diverse make-up of the village. Although minorities are serving in various capacities throughout the village government, the board is still comprised of Caucasians. With the next Village Board election in 2009, this is expected to change. Shah maintains that "the party is opening up for members of diverse backgrounds." The Caucus Party recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Courtesy of the Skokie Review, March 27, 2008.
